Each year, Harrison & Moberly, LLP, Indianapolis Monthly magazine and Marti Starkey sponsor the Starkey Entrepreneurial Woman Award, which honors an outstanding female business owner who exhibits courage, tenacity and selflessness in starting and running her own business. The Award is given each year at the annual Awards Breakfast, held this year on May 6 at the beautiful Meridian Hills Country Club. Entrepreneurial Spirit Awards Winners are also selected and given an award for exhibiting courage, tenacity and selflessness in an endeavor.
Congratulations, Nancy Shepard! Nancy Shepard, R.N., is making an extraordinary impact on women going through breast cancer treatment throughout the State of Indiana. Nancy established the Indiana Women In Need Foundation (“I.W.I.N.”) in 2000 with a mission to support women statewide currently receiving treatment for breast cancer by securing and paying for individual services that relieve emotional, physical and financial burdens. I.W.I.N. now serves 500 women annually and has provided over 1.2 million dollars in services to recipients. Nancy’s courage, tenacity and selflessness are heroic and her tireless and inspiring leadership has caused I.W.I.N. to thrive. As one Nominator said, “Nancy’s singleminded, purposeful, tireless, dedicated work and faithfulness to this cause has resulted in the answer to so many suffering women’s prayers.”
